LiveQuartz Photo App Reviews

6 Customer Reviews:

A graphics software without a bucket fill tool is definitely ridiculous. The algorithm is so easy to implement. Users have been asking for bucket fill in 2008 already, but the author doesn’t implement it into this otherwise nice and sleek little software. I need the software to edit icons, so without bucket fill it’s useless.

Works okay, but has lots of issues: • Riddled with graphical bugs that really disrupt your workflow (undoing something sometimes does’t clear it off the screen, new layers appearing briefly and disappearing, etc.) • Interface doesn’t seem polished (random localization errors, etc… a minor issue, but it’s clear) • Doesn’t fit Mac style — toolbar is static, view controls piled into Window menu, overall lack of customization • Drawing is okay with slow mouse movement, but is choppy if you move any faster For the price of free it isn’t bad, but you can only export once per day in this lite version (Also note: I hadn’t even exported anything, but it said I hit the limit!). I don’t see the full version as worth it, and there’s better out there. If you ONLY want this for slight photo adjustments (like applying filters or adding basic text), then it works okay. But if you want to do anything advanced or make images from scratch, this probably isn’t what you’re looking for. I’d give it a go, but don’t expect amazing.

Can’t Do Jack.

Why bother having a lite version when you can’t do more than a couple of things to the photo, and you can’t even export it? Don’t waste your time…..

I downloaded the lite version and found it very easy working on Maverick….beautiful results.. So I decided to download the Live Quartz Unlimited version and found it to be an easy app to work with different designs for scrapbooking, journaling and anything you would like to design. I recommend this app for anyone interested in designing…..

As a product manager I constantly need to communicate my ideas visually but I lack the time, attention and motivation to learn something like Photoshop. I downloaded LiveQuartz Lite and was manipualting images and creating new content within minutes. I didn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on the upgrade to the Unlimited version and more than happy that I did. I’ve since encouraged my non technical friends and my kids to use it and have seen the same results. Highly recommended.

I’m a Graphic Designer (own and use Adobe CS5.5) and I’m always looking for ways to do things quickly, for free or to recommend to friends. This is a pretty cool little app. Layers, compositing, text, moving images around on their layers, filters/fx, basic drawing tools, re-size an image on it’s own layer (click the little magnifying glass on a layer to see layer settings), all pretty good stuff. If you’ve used either of Adobe’s pro or consumer apps, the interface could take some getting used to. You can save to the open “.xcf” extension format for re-edit /additonal editing. I couldn’t export a .jpg from my 1st project, I got a pop-up that told me I needed to upgrade to paid version. But because I have a Mac and Apple gives us some good stuff, I used the Grab.app to “cut out” a .tiff from the canvas, which I dropped into Preview and converted to a .jpg. This is a small niggle, if you know about Apple’s free apps, but if you don’t, not being able to even export a .jpg of your work is not a good thing. All in all, it’s good and I’d reccomend to friends over a paid app for occasional use.
